People w/o health insurance how do you pay for medical care, or do you? I looked into insurance available to me in Georgia and here what the least affordable costs me: $350/month, 20% specialist cost after a $3500/yr deductible, 3 doctor visits per year at $45 each, $20 for each prescription, no dental/vision coverage and other charges that add up to over $7500/yr. And all of this BEFORE the latest 14% price hike. I've decided to save up the same $7500/yr for medical expenses and chuck the insurance companies. When I explained it to him he said he doesn't want it because life insurance is haraam and for me to please remove it. What now.....? So I received papers in the mail today from my soon to be ex husbands lawyer. In said paperwork he's claiming that I'm supposed to be seeking medical attention for my bipolar and that I don't take my medication, that my son lives with both of us equally, that he has no idea if our son has medical insurance, so on so forth. 17 inch crack in windshield and insurance company is calling us liars? Last week, my husband and I agreed to go to BestBuy after he picks me up from school. Because we just moved into town as transfer students, we pulled up our GPS which told us to go down a main street. We were on the far right lane when we see landscape people on the edge. By the time we had processed what the heck happened, we had already passed the landscapers. We weren't sure what to do! So we decided to pull over and call my husbands father. After we explained what happened, he told us we should go back and ask if they have insurance. They called us liars told us to call the owner of the landscape company. Once we did, he came over within 10 minutes. The landscapers told the owner that we took too long to come back after it happened, that we took 15 minutes to come back. MEANING that they heard the rock hit, right?! The insurance company is now calling us liars after we sent them the estimate we received- $700 to replace our windshield. We bought our 2012 Nissan BRAND NEW in 2012. We want our windshield fixed. What should we do? Is this fair?

We live just outside of London Ontario Canada and have just been told that for no reason they can give that our home insurance is going to double this year. We have never made a claim for over 5 years and now want to change company. Also happy to change our car insurance to the same company if it meant a better deal. What now.....? So I received papers in the mail today from my soon to be ex husbands lawyer. In said paperwork he's claiming that I'm supposed to be seeking medical attention for my bipolar and that I don't take my medication, that my son lives with both of us equally, that he has no idea if our son has medical insurance, so on so forth. 17 inch crack in windshield and insurance company is calling us liars? Last week, my husband and I agreed to go to BestBuy after he picks me up from school. Because we just moved into town as transfer students, we pulled up our GPS which told us to go down a main street. We were on the far right lane when we see landscape people on the edge. By the time we had processed what the heck happened, we had already passed the landscapers. We weren't sure what to do! So we decided to pull over and call my husbands father. After we explained what happened, he told us we should go back and ask if they have insurance. They called us liars told us to call the owner of the landscape company. Once we did, he came over within 10 minutes. The landscapers told the owner that we took too long to come back after it happened, that we took 15 minutes to come back. MEANING that they heard the rock hit, right?! The insurance company is now calling us liars after we sent them the estimate we received- $700 to replace our windshield. I can't learn how to drive for some reason. Whats wrong with me? I am 20 years old and I still can't drive. I've been trying for years to learn but I still can't get it. Its effecting every part of my life I can't ao anything because I can't drive. I live in an area with very limited bus service. The nearest bus stop is about a 20 minute walk from my home and only comes once an hour. I half to get up at 4 in the morning because It takes me about 2 and a half hours to get to the community college on the bus. I never get out of the house because its too hard to get anywhere and I had to quit my job because it was taking me hours to get there and the bus was always breaking down or running late making me late all the time.I'm so depressed. I took my driver's ed class back in high school but I kept failing the written test. By the time I finally passed it I was already 18 almost 19 and out of high school. Then came the actual learning how to drive the car. I was so bad I didn't even know what side of the road I was supposed to drive on and could only be in the parking lot for the first year I had my permit. I had a driving instructor and I went through the whole program yet I still couldn't get it. I tried to pass the test at the DMV in vain but I failed and my first permit expired. I got my second permit and am trying trying trying again but I still suck. I don't understand why driving seems to be so easy for everyone else and so nearly impossible for me. I see little 15 and 16 year old kids driving around with their licenses including my little brother no problem yet me a 20 year old can't do it. Whats wrong with me?? Is it possible that I have some kind of disability that is preventing me from learning how to do this? What can I do to learn? This is effecting my self esteem and every part of my life. I just want to be able to go out and have fun like everyone else.

Canceling car insurance? i got some car insurance for a car i was purchasing today as i did not want to drive it home over 100 miles with out none , i only took it out yesterday but when i went to pick up the car it had obtained some problems that it did not have before so i have not brought it. i was told when i got the insurance that i would have 14 days to cancel it but when i rung them up today to cancel it they have said i can not and i will have to pay all of the premium in full, i explained to them why i was needing to cancel it and was told it is not their fault and i still have to pay all outstanding monies , is this right . this is with swinton if it matters.

Know of Affordable Insurance for unemployed NJ resident? My wife just lost her job due to downsizing and she carried the insurance. Our insurance expires the end of October. So far as I've heard, two insurance companies won't insure our house because of a shed in the back of the house. Situation: At the back of the house there is a door, that is unused. The door opens up to the roof of a shed (attached to the house, but not actually part of the house). The roof of the shed provides the floor for the exit of that door. The shed is long and rectangular with 3 steps at the back of the shed to the backyard. The shed is 3/4 of a meter high by 1.5 meters wide by several meters long. The shed is unused because the door is not ever used. We use the room and never open that door to the backyard. There is a separate door. The shed is old but sturdy to walk on but it's door is broken off. The steps are broken and the wall is old but intact. We need money and the insurance companies won't give us insurance, so that we can rent 2 apartments. As I've heard from my mother, they want us to repair that shed. The estimate of repair, companies have said is $25K. It's unnecessary to repair the shed. No one steps on it, even though it is sturdy. It isn't part of the house. It's unused. Except that we put stuff inside it and no one ever uses the door. That room with the door has been turned into an ironing and clothes room and the door has been taped up (to conserve heat).

How do I remove an unpaid insurance claim that was an inquiry? I called my home owners insurance company with an inquiry about some thefts on my street. Can life insurance be forced to go to pay debts if there are named be beneficiaries? My dad passed away in Nov. He had named beneficiaries on his life insurance at work. Other driver hit me and won't give me insurance info and won't answer my calls? Got hit by car making an unsafe lane change. He hit me. He also had a passenger in his car. No cops were called because no one was hurt. We exchanged info. He gave me his insurance carrier but no policy number, i tried to call their insurance and gave them all the info i had even plate number but they have no record of the name. I went and filed police report and they didn't, cuz I went down to police station to see if I could get copy and they only have my report. When I called other driver to get their insurance policy number he said it was my fault. I live in New Hampshire so insurance is not required so I don't have insurance. He told me he was going to call insurance co and see what they can do and if its legit he will give me policy no. I have been trying to call them for a couple days and can't get a hold of him it just goes to voicemail. I don't know if they even gave me the right address. I was able to write down the make and model of car and plate number. I did get an estimate on my car and its over 1,200. So I don't know what to do now. How can they not file a claim on their car?? Can't I get their information from the police like who their insurance carrier is?? Should I contact an attorney and see if they can help??

When starting new car insurance, can insurers decline no claims bonus due to 2 motorway speeding convictions? Hello, I am trying to arrange vehicle insurance. I have contacted A&L with regards to their car insurance. Basically I have just changed jobs, where I had company cars for the last 6 years with no claims. I asked A&L if they would accept this as no claims, and they said they would if I could provide a letter from my previous employers stating dates, that I was sole user, that I no longer have policy and that it expires within last 3 months etc. I have provided them with the letter which covers all areas requested. They have now replied back to me saying that they can't accept the no claims, as I have 2 SP30 (Motorway speeding) convictions within the last 5 years, which means they will not accept the no claims. Is this acceptable? I though no claims were only relinquished if a claim in made against a policy, not because I have a couple of run-of-the-mill speeding convictions. Thanks in advance, James

What are the ins and outs of buying/owning a classic" car?" I have been considering purchasing an older car for about a year. I've done a little research during that time and narrowed down what I want. Last week, I found a car that I really like, a '62 Lincoln. However, I have some concerns about having a car like this and wanting to get some feedback from someone with the knowledge/experience/wisdom in this area. Firstly, I am not rich and getting this car would mean borrowing money. My intent was to sell my current car once I have this car to cover most of the cost of the classic. Would that be a mistake? My current car is paid off, so money-wise it would be a question of insurance costs and taxes/tags every year (if I were to keep my current car). Second, the car I'm looking at is pretty authentic, meaning it has almost all its original parts and accessories. Would it be a mistake to modify it? I mean, repainting it (down the road), having the upholstery redone, installing a current radio and speakers, putting on modern-style tires, etc. Will this change its value negatively? I do like the car as it is, but I'd really like to put modern-style tires on it and put in a modern stereo, at least. Repainting and such would be probably 5+ years down the road, if I decided to do this. Probably, I'd want to reupholster the seats before painting it. And, since I am not rich nor a moneyed individual, I don't have a storage place to park it at my place. I mean, I have a garage, but my house is old, the garage is narrow, and I use it as my workshop. If I were to park the car in it, that would be I'd have to pack up my workshop and remove the shelves to make it fit. Do I need to keep it in a garage? Would that be smart? Does it matter since it's intended to be my primary vehicle? I can't think of anything else to ask at the moment, so if you have any other advice or insights, I'd certainly appreciate them!

Car insurance question? Last week, I had my husband's car parked up at work and I was notified that our car was broken into. The passenger side window was smashed and the thief took our GPS unit. Employers Drop Employee Health Insurance...then what? I don't really understand this situation. News reports coming out today are saying that 1/3 of employers would stop offering the health insurance that many people (including myself) are paying $250 a month for. Would I then be earning that money I would be devoting towards insurance as extra income? And also, say I have no health insurance through my employer...what happens if I need prescriptions, or to go to the emergency room, or if I need surgery. What are the costs going to be like. (I live in NY...no idea if that matters, but just wanted to mention it) Thanks.

Speeding ticket & avoiding insurance increase? I received a speeding ticket the other day for going 14 over. This is my second citation in the past year. The previous one being for failure to yield. I CANNOT have this second citation on my record because I can't afford the insurance increase. A friend of mine said he took an online traffic school course and it negated his speeding ticket and kept his insurance rates from increasing. I've found several places to take the online courses for my state, but they don't say whether receiving the certificate of completion will do anything to help remedy my situation. I need to know 1) Reliable online traffic school 2) What to do with the certificate of completion once received (mail to whom? call where?) 3) Does completion of the course guarantee maintained insurance rates. 4) Should I pay the ticket as soon as possible, or wait until after I've completed the course to see if it will negate the fine. Don't tell me just stop being a crappy driver" or "LOL your fault." I understand my irresponsibility. I just need the answers to my questions
